Bret and Stacy are two love birds that you anyone would enjoy being around. Being that it was an afternoon trip on a hot day, we were looking for some faster water with more agressive fish. The first spot we stopped at, we just weren’t getting the hits we should have been getting, but we managed to squeak a fish out.
We kept heading down river and stopped at a hole where we were seeing a bunch of fish, but they were in too clear of water and weren’t cooperating…we managed to get one more.
Further down the river we went and stopped at a place that I would normally consider a honey hole. We worked a couple spots, Stacy landed one that wasn’t the biggest, but got the ball rolling. We moved up river and we caught another smaller fish, followed by hooking and jumping a larger brown trout that flew off the line. So, things were picking up a little and it was Bret’s turn to catch one…it didn’t happen.
So, one last spot with 15 minutes to go in the trip we hit the guarantee hole, the place I take people when in a must catch situation and we finally hook up on a couple more fish. 3 fish in 15 minutes and we call it a day.
Great spending time with love birds.
Thank you for posting these pictures. They came out great! We had a great time fly fishing while on our vacation in Estes Park.
