Adam is a return customer that was in town from Oklahoma. Last time he was in town we took out his daughter Lane. This time is was his son Sam’s turn to catch some wild trout in Colorado. We caught a variety of size fish in a couple different undisclosed locations. We found a freak fish that I first thought was a lake trout today, but it’s got too much color to be a lake trout. It looks more like a brook trout, but brook trout don’t tend to grow long and skinny like that. So we are going with a final answer of Splake Trout which is a combination of the two species lake trout and brook trout…that was the first time I’ve seen one of those from the river. Follow that up with a couple really nice rainbows….we ended the day with a lot of high fives. Then Adam and Sam said good bye and went to go fish some more water.
