We left from Boulder at sunrise to fish the Big Thompson River below Lake Estes. Our first fish was a rare catch, a Tiger Musky. Some people fish their whole lives to try and catch a tiger musky. Our catch was in the river because last fall we has a major flood causing fish to spill-over the Lake Estes dam in into the Big Thompson River. This Tiger Muskie was one of the many new fish in the river from the flood. Of coarse, we caught trout too, that’s what we came for. We moved around to a couple different areas of the Big Thompson. Jack loves fishing, and took to the sport of fly fishing with easy. Marc, as with most men (myself included) need to be shown a couple of times before getting the hang of it. The great thing about fishing, and especially trout fishing, is that there is always something to learn.
