Fritz and Amy are a wonderful couple.  Fritz talked to Amy with words of support and encouragement that was refreshing for me to hear.  Most men turn fly fishing into some sort of competition, which is rarely productive to the final goal of having a great time.  Fritz was exactly right about his wife, he told me I was going to have to tell Amy when her bobber went under…that was an understatement : )  Amy was a good sport as I had a tough time convincing her that when the bobber moved it was a fish, and not a rock.  We managed to catch a couple fish on the nymph rod, but it was the dry dropper rig that worked best for Amy’s style of fishing. The Blue Poison Tongue under a beetle produced many strikes as well as the Orvis flashback beatis in a size 20 for Fritz’s nymph rod.
