…And some days it just doesn’t work out.  The fish were a little picky in the morning, although the first drop of the fly produced a hit, they weren’t consistent.  The end of the day was a consistent dry fly bite, but the hook didn’t stick.  The middle of the day was spent with great conversation, enjoyable weather and a regular change in flies and presentations.  The hook wouldn’t stick.  The fish were there, the flies were on the water, the fish come up and ate our dry flies and nymphs, but when we lifted up the line to set the hook, 99% of the time, nothing was there.  It happens.  We caught fish, just %1 of them.  Still better than, well, everything.
