Chris and wife Kathryn came out from Texas with a set date and a lifelong desire to catch trout on the fly rod. Well, a little 100 year flood was not going to stop us from fulfilling a lifelong fantasy. We caught a good number of fish on Boulder Creek in the downtown area with the average size being in the 5 inch range. Pre-flood I would say the average size fish was just a little bit larger, in the 8 inch range, but we were happy to be catching fish given the situation. The 100 year flood peaked about a week ago and flows were back down to a safe level for fishing. The creek looks unlike it’s former self, but the fish still call it home.
