My first guided trip in Alaska. I met John and Gerry at the airport in Anchorage and we soon learned we were going to the same location. We spent one night in Cordova and John was gracious enough to invite me to eat dinner with the guys. Katie had other plans for me as I stayed in a different hotel and ate dinner at her house. The next morning we had a window of good weather, and left Cordova for Alaska Wilderness Outfitting Company on the Tsiu River. As soon as we got into camp we put some waders on, met the staff and went fishing. It was my first time out and Matt from Wisconsin was showing me the ropes. We went to a variety of locations, all places have fish, and plenty of them. I quickly learned that it only takes about 3 casts to know if fish are piled up in front of you. Most days, it only takes one cast.
